I originally had a 3rd gen smooth body 2aa titanium lan with all trits. It was so beautiful. So beautiful I rarely carried I because I was scared I’d break a trit. I needed cash so I was forced to sell it. But I refused to sell it to anyone. One of my best friends bought it and he’s in love. I was able to pick up a copper but no trits just orange in the power switch. Now this light will get lots of carry time. Thank you again brother for everything! Jason~ Desert Lumens

This review is going to be different than you may be used to. I’m not going to comment on the UI or lumens or any other topics typically written. I’m going to look at the esthetic beauty in relation to design and Use. This llight took the quintessential look of a flashlight we all think of and elevated it up to pure elegance and grace. The simple clean lines crave to be held. I was taught the raw broken down elements of any design can be simplified as “Form follows function”. When you look at this light it may fool you with its very clean, with simple lines. The curves are soft and the complete look states elegance and sophistication. Every line, each change in thickness has one or multiple purposes. An example of what I mean is it not only does it disappear in your hand from comfort, those features that accomplish that comfort are also doing a amazing job of dissipating heat. Even though it has a smooth surface the grooved lines and thickness graduations creates a platform to comfortably grip the torch without fear dropping it. When most think of metal our minds think of it being cold and hard not very inviting. The Lan on the other hand is soft and subtle to the touch. With L.e.d lights cold is not a concern , heat is. This light gets warm, not hot. Yes copper is a great help but its the design that is really doing the work. When you pick it up the Reyligt Lan you won’t want to put it down. It leaves the realm of being just a tool and it becomes a extension of yourself. To create light that works is not the same as creating one that hits top marks on /function/looks/ease of use/comfort/ grip/ a true tool. Accomplishing this is very difficult and few lights will make the grade at them all. The Lan not only achieves this but it sets the bar so high that most makers won’t even see it. That is rare. The Took the idea of “form follows function” to its extreme by combing a multitude of functions and expectations of a flashlight into one elegant light. Owning and carrying the Lan makes the hard edges in life we normally would get discouraged by. It turns them into something we now do without effort and will seek out for fun. The Lan is simple to the layman but few people can achieve bringing together so many difficult elements into a harmonious union that will cause us to forget they could be a concern in the first place. The Lan is a true Work of Art. It creates a wide range of emotions In a myriad of mediums. I’m torn because I want to use it daily and also treat it as the work of Art that it is.
